| 'SHISHUVIHAR' was started in the year 1939 by Late shri Manbhai Bhatt, who was a foreman in a steel factory with a strong body & spirit full of Gandhian principles and burning zeal in the heart for creating appropriate facility for the children, especially of the poor class, for their integrated development of body, mind, intellect and spirit. Shri Manbhai acquired a piece of stinking uneven land of pits and ditches for the purpose. With the help of four-five like minded friends and under the guidance of a well known educationist Shri Harbhai Trivedi. Shri Manbhai started a Kridangan, a play ground with one 'Swing'. The group worked hard and made the whole land leveled. As a result of their pursuit for the noble cause of social service only without slightest desire for personal benefits or credit or a feeling of obligation. They could draw monetary, physical and voluntary inputs from the service minded individuals and organisations, maintaining pure principles, discipline, values and ethics. At the call of Shri Manbhai Bhatt Shishuvihar always got selfless volunteers and sufficient donations from the donors and he ensured that the organisation becomes self-sufficient and self-sustaining. Shishuvihar has never taken grants or financial aid from Government.
Ample number of saints, social workers and dignitaries have visited Shishuvihar and showered blessings and guidance on Shishuvihar.
Such an institution which is multi purpose and yet providing purely education and intellectual training completes. 69 years in the service of humanity remaining continuously busy in Human Service, being useful to one and all of all ages from all walks of life.
